One of the great things about work on your own is that you get to decide what direction you go in. It has been a year since I struck out on my own. While it has been a ride I will never forget I will never regret the move. I am however backing off of the personal and success coaching. I have alway thought I would be a pastor or church leader of some kind. Now having finished my degree I have seen an opening in the Christian community that I believe needs filling. While many pastors and church leaders today call the community to wealth and prosperity I want to call the church back to Christ.

Do not misunderstand me. I do not believe that our sole call as Christians is to be poor, but I also do not believe that our sole focus is to be on what we will gain if we give. Tithing is part of who we are; it is what we do. While we are never commanded to tithe as Christians we are told that when we do we will be blessed (Malachi 3:6-12). Tithe so you will not be called robbers of God, but do it because you want to not because you want to receive something in return.

In Christs own words he tells us to take up our crosses daily and follow him (Matthew 16:24, Mark 8:34, Luke 9:23). But at the same time he tells us it will be easy because his yoke is light (Matthew 11:28-30). Our sole purpose is to seek Him first, above all else and then these things will be given to us (Matthew 6:25-34).

My point is this, do not seek things of this world. Seek God first, which means reading your bible and praying daily. We hope to be giving you insight into the spiritual disciplines soon. We believe that the spiritual disciplines are the key to unlocking a closer relationship with God. We alos believe that Christ exemplified the disciplines in his life on earth.

I will not take down the articles I have posted so far because they are part of who I am and need to be read to understand how my journey has developed. The spiritual disciplines played a part in me coming this far and I look forward to sharing them with you.
